I’m a bit disappointed, as I like much of Yargos other works. His vision & storytelling left too much to be desired with little reward. As we uncover the truth of the predicament the protagonist is in, we simultaneously get less clear in what is actually happening. However, the use of mystery & vagueness is a useful tool if done correctly. (It wasn’t) Overall, this falls into the category of “style over substance”. On a positive note, his ability to provide suspense & intrigue is genius. Colin Farrell & Barry Keoghan deliver a great performance as always.

Godzilla × Kong: The New Empire 2024
I’m not sure why they continue to make these films. I’ve never personally been a fan of Kaiju; even though I watch every single one they throw my way. Plot was almost laughable to the point I wasn’t sure if it was satire. The only redeeming quality was Kong getting a mech arm. Rock on!
