Rewatched for class on abolition of family. Heartbroken. Final scene of "Russia" running on a trademill into nowhere while "motherland" is trying to warm herself up under 1-2-3-4 blankets in a basement was the strongest scene. two mothers: one mother-in-law who never loved you, negative mother complex. Another...? Hiding in the basement, barely alive .. an idea of mother who can love ...
Emptiness and alienation, hell with us

The Left-Handed Woman 1977
after that film I realised that Fassbinder and Handke are greatest feminists in the world of male's cinema, 1978 Germany and it's obvious that the question of female's freedom were very hot.
I would continue later, just wanted to write that I am impressed and really like that film. Also, both of the films (this and 'beautiful days in A...") overlap in terms of "women's question" although there is a whole life between them. And 1978 was the year of my birth -- it was doubly interesting to see what kind of people were living then...Translated from by -
The Wind Rises 2013
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Was bitterly disappointed by this film, questioning myself while watching: "Why is this last cartoon of Miyazaki is so weird and anti-human?". Finally, I came to a conclusion that this is just a culmination of something ill, some sort of a necrophilic manifestation of collective spirit where the human comes last. Planes are more important than human. Italian guru, national pride, american trauma, tuberculosis wife, all these themes are mixed into a disgusting salad with romantic dressing "always waiting and sacrificing woman".
...В общем, "первым делом первым делом самолеты, ну а девушки а девушки потом". Испортившийся под старость Миядзаки стал патриотичным и продажным совсем как Михалков
