Powerfully directed, expertly performed and incredibly claustrophobic. I caught a screening at SBIFF and the whole audience was enraptured in the films ambiguity and sucker punch of an ending. A fantastic directorial feature that promises an exciting career for director/writer/actor Nnamdi Asomugha who leaves so much of the central conflict in ambiguity that he places you into the center of investigation orchestration and racial discriminatory preconceptions. Melissa Leo is really fantastic in yet another cop role, but her casting is…

Roald Dahl's The Witches 2020
Review from www.thewanderingscreen.com
The new adaptation from the reliable Robert Zemeckis, who brought us Back to the Future and Forrest Gump, is an entertaining and confounding ride. Stranger by the Lake 2013
Sure, this is a great thriller that slowly unveils its unsettling mystery, reminding you why you should do your research on whoever you’re sleeping with. But as a closeted, late teen-year-old whose repressed and unexplored sexual energy heard a thing or two about how this movie had an R rating and graphic male nudity... this was fucking awesome 😉

Luce 2019
The film had all the makings of a complex, anxiety driven family drama but incorporated too many ideas. The simplicity of the story is what would have elevated the performances, but including plot details such as Luce being a former soldier were never paid off or necessary. If it was never mentioned that Luce was adopted after that particular situation in his life, the story would be no different in how it unfolds. Fortunately, all the performances elevate past these details and we really see Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer digging into their characters.
