Not nearly as fun as the concept would have you believe, and far too long and depressing to keep the energy up, this one benefits from a great cast, but it’s absolutely bottom tier Spielberg; just a notch above bridge of spies for me.
DiCaprio would go on to make a far better version of this movie with Wolf of Wall Street, where he essentially plays the same character and that movie is far more entertaining and memorable.

I must’ve seen the Disney+ version of this movie, because not only does Lewis manage to make an unforgivably unfunny movie, but it is also tremendously tame and laboriously lame.

An absolutely abysmal fumble of a movie.
How in the world was this script put before the cameras? It’s hard enough to make a movie, and I’m shocked that no one said during the planning of this that it would be a bad idea to make a Michael Myers movie without little to no Michael Myers in it!
Despite being incredibly well made, with wonderful music by Carpenter and Co., this is a terrible movie.
