Lift Lady 2024
Georgian Cinema always on top!
Although this is a Polish production, every film that comes from Georgia amazes me.
Mzia's work is presented harmoniously. The director manages to capture key elements of her life, namely her relationship with her cat, her peculiar beliefs (talking nicely to a picture of Stalin).
Her behavior towards the elevator customers is also remarkable, allowing us to realize her kindness along with the insanity of the infrastructure.

Εξωφρενικά κυνικοί είναι οι κόσμοι του Λάνθιμου/Φιλίππου.
Πάντα, εξαιρώντας ίσως λίγο την Ευνοούμενη, οι κανόνες στις Λανθιμικές κοινωνίες είναι σαν τους δικούς μας, αλλά λίγο πιο <<weird>>. Λίγο πιο αποδραματοποιημένοι, σίγουρα με λιγότερα συναισθήματα. Έτσι, ενώ το να ζητήσεις από κάποιον να κόψει το δάκτυλό του για να στο ταΐσει είναι αδιανόητο στον δικό μας κόσμο, εκεί είναι ένα λογικό αίτημα.

Impressive for the body-horror genre.
I have only one complaint, since the film won the best screenlay award in Cannes. We do not learn anything about the creator of the substance. I am not expecting a scientific analysis of it, which would probably lead the film to a more sci-fi genre, but I would like, at least, to know who benfits, why is Elisabeth chosen etc.
There is a slight implication by Harvey in the New Year's Eve scene, but it is just not enough, even if the director's intention was to imply that he is running the experiment.Translated from by
