Apocalypse Now 1979
How anyone can "appreciate this movie aesthetically" is so fucking violent. The film relies on the Othering of the Vietnamese freedom fighters, and its inevitable role of the Subject of the white person. Though it comes off superficially "critical", it nonetheless places the agency in a white supremacist fashion. And then the last sequence is so brutally colonialist it is astounding how fucking high of reviews this movie gets, absolutely fucking disgusting.
