Sometimes you just have to accept that you've watched a film so many times, it has to be regarded as a 5 star film in your eyes. I figure I must have watched this thing more than 50 times - and yeah, that means I'm watching it at times other than Christmas, which likely makes me insane.

Non-sequitur: The Movie
There is some interesting stuff here, some good performances, some arresting imagery, some ambition I guess. But it really is rubbish. I suppose it may be preference, but I just couldn't latch onto the narrative or characters enough at any point to care or understand what was happening or why it mattered, or who it mattered to. It's just a great big metaphor, but that is not nearly enough for it to be anything.

Mulholland Drive 2001
Surely the most David Lynch ass movie in existence.
An escalating series of oddities and weirdness that culminates in a wonderfully satisfying pulling together of all those threads, demanding a re-watch immediately. An example of why a star rating system really doesn't do something justice.

The Greasy Strangler 2016
I want to be the person that comes away from an experience like this and talks about originality, talks about a breath of fresh air, talks about something wonderfully unique in both language and action. But lets cut to the chase, it just plain frickin weird, with 50% of that being good weird, off-centre and genuinely funny, and the other 50% being the incomprehensible nonsense kind of weird that makes you question why on earth you started watching this thing in the first place.
I think I liked it, but I'll be damned if I could actually defend that position if someone challenged me on it.
