The experience of being a woman is painful and beautiful, and the film reflects this reality.
Ji-young takes on the experiences of other women, and her condition is unique, but as a metaphor, it resonate so deeply.
Although I haven’t read the novel, which is hailed (and hated by some people??) as a strong feminist work, the film seemed to give the husband a savior-like persona. (Did they try to sneak in marriage propaganda? lol)
