  I could say it is director’s fault for sure although the theme and talents were great. There were a bunch of meaningless “comedy” scenes and they didn’t fit in the film. No tension and no laugh at all. 
  De Niro did great.

  The film is a series of indistinct images in a time continuum. The cumbersomeness of the film confuses us, but the beautifully calculated images consolidate them into a single film.
  The journalist soon discovers that the empty conversations and environment are his present, and he realizes that he has no choice but to move on, even if he cannot accept the situation.
  The film is ephemeral, realistic and dreamlike, convoluted and yet intertwined into a single plot.
