    14 Years.

A sequel 14 years in the making is almost impossible to please. The Incredibles, perhaps one of Pixar's most memorable films to date, has only grown larger into its legacy as a wholly unpredictable thing, both weighty and family-friendly, action-packed yet surprisingly muted in its violence, the very universe of Brad Bird's arguably greatest film is still well and truly etched into everyone's memories. It has grown not only as nostalgic representations of our childhood, and equally as…

    Takahata outdoes himself again.

Simply an utterly intricate and spellbinding retelling of The Bamboo-Cutter & the Moon-Maiden. Everything falls near seamlessly into place, the painterly compositions effortlessly bolstering the enchanting music... in short, pure heaven.

Takahata once again re-establishes his excellence and versatility in animation--and brings an exceptional addition to his oeuvre, and of course, Studio Ghibli's.

Personally, Superman Returns is Bryan Singer's underrated masterpiece, his final attempt at reviving a superhero that has otherwise deemed itself socially and culturally irrelevant as Hollywood seeks for itself more action and adventure-packed superheroes over finely-crafted plot narratives.

The film's beauty is subtle, hidden in the seemingly bland dialogues and unusual narrative is a quiet nostalgia, fueled by the film's overarching acknowledgment that the role of a superhero has become obsolete. And Singer deals with this very subject matter perfectly.…
