  The casting in this covers up for the thin plot and sinister undertones. This is upper middle class Black people disguising their contempt for Black art made for Black audiences. The reality is the stereotype trafficking is in the Ibram Kendi-zone and not Boyz-N-The-Hood.

  American Fiction is either delusional or dripping with self-hate but probably a little of both.

  Clarke, through the camera, became another player in Ornette’s band and I lack the vocabulary to describe how awesome that experience was.
