For a movie made a century ago it was unexpectedly good and have a good story!
Sets were fenomenal!
There’s an extreme stylization: settings widely designed, deliberately unnatural, distorted and exaggerated. Furniture, houses, windows and even the characters (make-up and clothes) are made in an unrealistic way.
Everything are made to plunge us in the main character nightmare!
Set design are more than juste backdrop for the action.
Same thing with the acting it was exaggerated (on purpose).
This movie is a great example of German Expressionism!
