I love the brutality of nature here. In most other Ghibli films, nature is a healing force, or at least just a place for comfort. But in this movie, nature bares its teeth, bleeds, and curses humanity. My favorite parts were the scenes with the Forest Spirit. It’s such an eerily beautiful creature that’s also downright creepy at times, giving and taking life on a whim of its own.

I didn’t expect this movie to be as good as it was. It captured the chaos and camaraderie of a D&D game played with friends perfectly.

Nosferatu 2024
I love how this movie achieves such darkness without having to always cover every shot in as much shadow as possible, using this pale moonlight sort of lighting instead for some scenes. The costumes are on point too. All of Eggers’ movies have this excellent historical flavor I really enjoy.
