  The script and editing underexplain a lot and overexplain some too. There are parts that don't make any sense, and they aren't the scifi bits.

  This script should have been a book. The silly concepts would work better in a novel with the right tone.

  A mix of cheesy clichés and genuinely funny jokes. You should watch this in a full theater for the best experience so you can all laugh and facepalm together.

  Would be a good palate cleanser after watching Ex Machina. I suggest a double feature.

  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2023

  For a kids movie it's pretty solid. The art style is amazing. It really looks like an animated comic book. Some of the jokes don't land but a lot do. The turtles have distinct enough characters. I like how April has a real kinship with the turtles in this version. It still has the one big flaw which I even picked up on as a kid watching the cartoon: it's really obvious that they'll never actually use their blades on people because that would be too gory, so why not just change the weapon designs?
