I dig B-movies, horror and sci-fi. Dazzling practical effects, solid soundtracks, cheap thrills and general weirdness.

For me this is one of those movies that stands out from when I was a kid and it contributed to my love of sci-fi before I even really knew what it was. Terry Gilliam really delivers on this one. It’s a dystopian time travel action mystery. The story of A virus almost wiping out mankind strikes a little close to home in modern times eh?

Really bad video game adaptation with a few ok kills and some low budget gore. The story is a vampire revenge snoozefest mixed with romance and boredom. The action shots are so shakey with far too many fast camera cuts (to hide the low budget and poor stunt work). It also has one of the worst sex scenes Ive ever seen. The dialogue is delivered with high school drama class level enthusiasm. Could be a “so bad it’s good” kinda movie if you enjoy that.

H.p Lovecraft re-imagined in the best way possible!  Lots of laughs, lots of gore lots of obsession! A great love story mixed with a mad scientist hell bent on re-animation!  Herbert West is so obsessed with bringing the dead back to life but he has total disregard for anyone and basically goes on a  murderous rampage.

Fuck it’s scary how relevant this is in 2025. I thought Robocop was cool hero when I was a kid but the poor guys just a cog in the machine.
The satire will make you laugh but also bum you out it’s so on point and relevant.

I think Verhoeven went a bit deeper with starship trooper but Robocop still a great meditation on private enterprise in the public sector and  militarized police states and control. Or
If you just want a badass action movie with lots of blood, violence  and swearing it’s got that also.
