While I think the puritan lore is very interesting and the symbolism that stems from the garden of eden’s adam and eve is enough to draw an intellect in— I don’t think a casual viewer or even regular movie watcher would get the “hype.” With that said, it was solid but if I wanted a movie about horror and paranoia and 17th century drama, i’d rather watch The Crucible.
