I saw this movie. I was surprised at how much I liked it.
I’m not a fisheye aficionado. I knew beforehand this would bother me. That said, it didn’t. This is such a violently loud movie in every respect (color, sound, etc.) that the fisheye works, for the most part. This was a very impressive film. The filmmaker knows what he's doing and uses every trick to make the intimate feel epic. The sound work does wonders. Adrian Brody is doing his Pianist thing, which he is very good at. He leads a stellar ensemble; Guy Pearce and Felicity Jones are great.
