Episodic WW2 macaroni combat with a very misleading title. Shot in Yugoslavia so you know it has scenes was CAVES in it. Outcast men on a mission go behind enemy lines to hook up with partisans and sabotage Nazi shit left and right.

It’s an ok movie, kept interesting with non-stop explosions and battles. I admire the Yugoslav partisans who fought tooth and nail to destroy the Nazi menace so movies like this are kinda cool. But like Bridge To Hell this is kind of a movie out of time, especially during the Rambo macho patriot and introspective Platoon era.

A surprisingly pretty solid WW2 actioner that feels lost in time. Platoon came out the same year, Full Metal Jacket a few years later and here we have an Italian WW2 film that plays like it came out in the late 60’s and has the DNA of a spaghetti western.

Constantly evolving story, adventure after adventure about ne’er do wells trying to escape the responsibility of defeating the Nazis. Guys doing the “right thing” even though they have no business…

    Redemption: denied.

I’m currently reading Torture and Impunity by Alfred W McCoy and I’m wondering if Paul Schrader read that before writing this script because the flashback torture scenes are dead on.

One of the best Iraq war movies. William Tell keeps himself busy because he still has that torturer in him. The kid thinks he does. Dafoe is such a slimy dog.

    Late career Schrader rules.

Totally fine one-location slasher movie. Not a disaster as the pre-release bad press would indicate. Probably too online with these characters but as I was watching it I was like, who gives a shit about the TCM lore. They were all pretty bad post-TCM2 which I don’t even care for that much to begin with. This is just one sick puppy with a chainsaw ripping people up. Easy watch tbh. Totally FINE. I had to rewind that ending a few times.…
