I love movies that play with your mind and make you think, and Donnie Darko is certainly one of them.

Even after multiple rewatches, this film still leaves me deep in thought and contemplating its reality. There’s always something new to pickup each watch. Brilliant use of imagery, symbolism, and foreshadowing. I’m very tempted to lookup theories on its plot, but the fun in this film lies in watching again and discussing with others.

“I hope that when the world comes to an end, I can breathe a sigh of relief, because there will be so much to look forward to.”

“Violence ends by destroying itself. It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers.”

Do The Right Thing is more than a film. It is a sociology, psychology, and history lesson. It is a public service announcement. It is a beautiful, tragic, gut-wrenching, and powerful commentary on human nature. It is a work of art.

Every human needs to watch this.

Another stellar performance from both Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger. The locations and cinematography are outstanding. One of my biggest highlights was witnessing Ennis’ internal struggle of loyalty between…

Recency bias or not, Sing Sing is my new favorite A24 film. Incredibly heartfelt and inspiring, this film had me laughing, crying, and cheering the whole way.

Colman Domingo gives us a stunning performance with a beautiful range of love, rage, sorrow, and joy. The other actors, real-life inmates of the facility, seamlessly fit in, and their roles perfectly complement each other.

    Sing Sing
tackles themes of brotherhood, masculinity, camaraderie, self-acceptance, and the found-family trope in a way that pulls…
