    Kind of fascinating considering Lynch’s approach to Lost Highway was to give life to an uninterrupted flow of his mind’s ideas and creations. Obviously works as an exploration of masculinity and failure, but if you’re not deeply into Lynch’s approach it doesnt hold up all the way. Requires the viewer to place a lot of trust in its conveyance of a feeling rather than an ordinary sequential story. 
    Of course it retains a majority of what made Lynch great. A shame…

    It's a tremendous achievement that Blade Runner 2049 was even made, and an even greater achievement is the incredible cinematic and artistic heights it reaches. On 4th watch it remains elite. An unapologetically slow and methodical journey, that, despite its action and sci-fi exterior, genuinely triumps as it explores questions of what is means to be human and fit in. It is truly at its best when it delves into K's psyche.

    No one quite does scale like Denis Villenueve, and you'll very rarely find a movie that conveys scale and sheer size as well as Dune. A masterwork in worldbuilding and an extremely immersive story that, when paired with Part 2, will surely be looked upon as an epic.
