The Brutalist is a modern-day American epic. The ensemble, especially Adrien Brody, gives career-best performances. The film is visually stunning, and László's journey is captivating. I do need a rewatch, but this film will be generational.

Transformers One 2024
Transformers One is a fun watch, especially for the franchise’s fans. I appreciated the focus remained entirely on the Autobots without introducing any unnecessary human subplot, as seen in the Michael Bay films. Megatron’s character arc was the best part for me. However, as someone who didn’t grow up with the franchise, I found it difficult to care about what was happening on screen. This film is intended less for the general audience and more for the franchise’s fans.

The Substance 2024
The Substance is a great film by Coralie Fargeat. She delivers one of the grossest body horror films of the year and a film that deserves the Best Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar. The performances from the trio were amazing, and though I would have liked the film to pick up the pace in the second act and be more restrained in the third act, it is still a must-see for any horror fan.
