A preposterously self-congratulatory attempt to be something special that is so deeply steeped in its own pretension it can’t see how utterly basic and boring it is.

Delightful low budget homegrown horror from Dead Vision Productions.
Taking the well-loved premise of youth camping for the weekend in the woods, Freak is just a ton of bloody fun. Local legend has it that the woods are haunted by the Jason Vorhees-esque Freak that survives off animals in the woods. The teens soon find out that it’s more than animals that the creature feasts on.
The creativity on the puppet effects are great and gross in the best way. The acting is impressive, the puppetry amazing, and the gore is intense! Highly recommend!
