The First Omen 2024
You can see exactly where it's heading all the way through, but that honestly did not bother me. Given it's a prequel and has end up in a certain place, I guess you can't deviate too much from that path.
I wasn't effected as much as I'd hoped I'd be, but some pretty decent scares and sense of dread did make for a good enough time to spend 2 hours.

Godzilla Minus One 2023
For once the human drama does actually manage to be compelling so it does avoid the most common shortfall of most of the other films.
It is pretty damn spectacular, but at no point did I ever forget I was watching a giant CGI model.
