Beetlejuice 2 is a spookily entertaining movie. It has outstanding but faithful visuals with an incredibly diverse and compelling cast of characters which mesh together perfectly. The story feels at tad predictable however it’s clearly not the focus of the movie. Overall an enjoyable and non subtractive sequel.

Beetlejuice is a truely unique and delightful film about Tim Burtons envisioning of the afterlife. The movie features a masterful soundtrack, groundbreaking visual effects for the time period and a story unlike any other. It does suffer from the use of cliches as well as some at points below average acting. However, being 36 years old the movie holds up extremely well and is quite enjoyable for the entirety of its duration.

A lovely little fever dream of a movie about overcoming long term depression and loss. There is a persistent strong sense of direction with a perfectly encompassing soundtrack and precise cinematography that has influenced my personal composition for years. The movie is filled with a robust and effective cast of at times painfully real caricatures. I personally feel that this movie is overlooked for it’s initially quirky and surface level depiction, however it will likely remain at the top of my favourite list of movies for its terrific impact on my life.
