The hype is real. 70mm IMAX is completely justified, and not just for obvious, action-sequence reasons. In fact, for a movie about a bomb there aren’t many “explosive” scenes. It’s very composed and disciplined visually. The biggest, loudest, most epic shots are the portraits. I noticed a great maturation in Nolan’s work here. A great study of control. Nothing was overdone or over exaggerated. His best.
