A masterpiece that grows in stature with every viewing. Christmas at the New Bev is glorious.
One of the great movies. Over the course of his career, Peckinpah genuinely added to and expanded the cinematic language. Utilizing the medium to its fullest to tell stories. Doing things that ONLY the movies can do. And he was at the height of his powers with this film.
Screenplay by Rudy Wurlitzer, one of the all-time great writers. Score by Bob Dylan, along with a supporting role. A rich character study between Kristofferson’s Billy the Kid and Coburn’s Pat Garrett.
This film offers an abundance of riches for anyone who loves the movies.
American Giallo. Contains Quentin Tarantino’s second favorite “Me So Crazy” monologue of all-time. My wife’s favorite movie title / character name… maybe ever? Great stuff.
