  this reminded me alot of when i first came out as trans my dad was so supportive one of thr most supportive people in my life and he still is. alot of the other people in my life had a hard time 'adjusting' to it, once my mum said "if you want me to use your name and pronouns you have to respect me" my dad has never said anything like that to me no matter whatever has happened he has always used my preferred name and pronouns
