We're All Going to the World's Fair 2021
The concepts/themes being investigated here truly do interest me, but this is a film of strange moments that just don’t coalesce into something impactful for me. The side of the internet that the film depicts is a little disturbing to me, but also very fascinating, however this story didn’t expand or enhance my understanding of that world enough and I felt unsatisfied given the potential I believed the story had.

Hell House LLC 2015
This reminded me of Lake Mungo, but a little more sugary. It had that investigative mystery element to it that elevates it from being a basic found footage film.
What stood out for me was the dynamics of the friendship group - there were some commendable performances here. The setting was also impressive.
I just didn’t find it as haunting as Lake Mungo, and thought some of the scares were tacky.

Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel 2018
This lacks the character development and mystery that made the first one compelling.
The first act fumbles around with a convoluted collection of stories about people being terrorised by the hotel, only to be ignored for the rest of the film. And fuck me, how many times did they have to clarify that the camera “will be running the whole time?” It’s just lazy writing.
Still, I like the franchise and I hope it bounces back in the third.
