i heard from a reputable source that this was a great way to emotionally self-destruct, so i watched it. had a good therapeutic cry. continued crying. became concerned by how many tears were being shed. then the nixon line came around and that was the final straw. imagine being so cruel that you attempt to soothe your daughter's deep emotional wounds by manipulating her into thinking nixon's re-election makes things better

The Perks of Being a Wallflower 2012
I can't decide whether I'm sad or glad that I didn't watch this until after graduating college. On one hand, it might have completely broken me if I watched it when it came out. On the other hand, that might have been when I needed it most. Either way, I'm grateful to have seen it now, and will watch it whenever I feel like weeping and/or reminiscing over my years on tumblr. In order to do so, I will pretend that I do not know anything about Ezra Miller.
