When Laura Dern said “Gay rights!” she was actually referring to Benoit Blanc wearing a Victorian smokers cap playing Among Us in the bath with Dame Angela Lansbury

"How can love destroy a nation?"

I was super excited to watch this at the Woordfees Arts Festival in Stellenbosch back in 2018; but just under a month before it's release, the Film and Publication Board (FPB) Appeal Tribunal re-rated the film from its inital 16 LS rating to an X 18 rating (which is the same rating that is given to hardcore pornography). It just made me giggle and kick my feet really 😭 whimsically draws out the humour and romance out of Austen’s novel and transposes it to screen in such visually breathtaking ways. Mrs Bennet had me cackling and I audibly gasped when Mr Darcy said  “you must know, surely you must know it was all for you” PLEASE

Every time I thought we had put the disgusting racist caricature to rest, Mickey Rooney’s appalling yellowface would appear out of nowhere. That, plus attempts at comedy that didn’t land and a plot I didn’t really care for made this surprisingly unpleasant to watch. Why does everyone love this so much?

These stars are entirely for my queen Audrey Hepburn and cat the cat

Leans a little too heavily on the formula of its predecessor, but this still has plenty of novel ideas to offer. Anxiety is handled in such a creative way and the panic attack sequence was really moving! Ayo continues to steal scenes, my Irish queen 😌

Also there is no conceivable universe where you can convince me that Riley’s deep dark secret is not that she’s gay
