Tangerine 2015
You continuously forget and remember this was filmed on an iPhone. As a feat of cinematography, absolutely pop off, Sean Baker. This story was wild and the characters were interesting enough to keep you with them. Strong acting but would be interested to know how much was scripted vs improv. I do wish there were a few more redeemable qualities in the main characters. I liked Alexandra a lot and thought she carried some of the funniest bits in the film. Would recommend from a film history and trans film history perspective but if you’re just looking for a 90 minute comedy, I’d probably go elsewhere.
