i may not be somewhere in northern italy during the summer of 1983 physically but i am emotionally, eternally, mentally, theoretically, and psychologically in a 17th century countryside villa in crema harvesting peaches in the orchard and annotating heraclitus and montaigne with oliver and samuel as elio play bach in the styles of liszt and busoni

jean pierre begging in drunk french was a life-altering experience, the same way witnessing joseph descamps’ peak jaw clenching was a blessing

ngl this movie had me lost in the Tumblr trenches for a solid hour (no cap). the whole Susan Mueller murder? mind blowing. the bogus storytelling full of lies? deadass. and all the ties to historical figures? straight-up genius. i can’t say anything less than a fookin' hands down to the most stacked and layered movie I’ve ever seen so far. an absolute serve.

Just facts, this movie was way overhyped. 2 hours of pure snooze fest and deadass felt like a nap in movie form. The plot was in slow-mo with zero payoff. Just a messed-up ride about some kids doing drugs, stealing paintings and ruining their lives. For most people, the only reason they watched this was Finn Wolfhard and him kissing a boy, mad take but truths. Also the edits of this movie are a queerbait, cappin' around with some delusional bull.
