  nowhere near as good as the second, but a fairly enjoyable watch and good action flick, which is what tarantino probably set ought to do. most memorable moment was, when watching it for the first time with friends, I said "I'm surprised there hasnt been a wilhelm scream yet" and then, without missing a beat, there was a wilhelm scream.

  found it funny how despite it being championed as a feminist rallying cry, the plot mostly revolves around the man, who also has the best song in the movie. dialogue was extraordinarily bad, but it was amazing aesthetically.

  more faithful to the book than the new one by far, which is both a positive and a negative. on the one hand, it keeps important bits about the story that are enthralling in the book, but on the other Herbert's writing does not always translate to the screen. Still, I believe its overly hated as it was a fun watch and stayed decently true to the source material, and was also the one that started it all. lynch walked so villeneuve could run etc etc
