    Kiki and Gabrielle are MAGNETIC in this (though wish Gabrielle and the Clovers had more to do). Cliff is one of the hotter love interests of this genre (the rings!). Clearly a less successful ripoff of the Clueless/Heathers “magic realism” high school satire screenplay but very fun nonetheless!

    Probably my favorite Luca film. Something sour and rancid in almost every scene, cutting through the surface-level beauty and languor of the vistas, relationships, and actors’ faces & bodies. Goes without saying that Ralph Fiennes’ dance to “Emotional Rescue” hits every possible pleasure center.

    Better than it needed to be! Felt thoughtful but unserious (in a good way).

    Anne Hathaway is a movie star - couldn’t take my eyes off her. I COULD take my eyes off Galitzine who built some nice character flourishes, but ultimately didn’t have the charisma or self-possession to match his costar (though maybe that was purposeful).

    Wish they had a more budget to spend on sets, location shooting etc.

    Great onscreen kiss! Bad songs :(
