BM delivers a good impression of a romantic comedy before plunging the viewer into the cast/director's finest work in the trilogy. A jarring triumph.
BS's somewhat jittery pace largely succeeds in sweeping the viewer up in the barely disguised desperation of its story. Dims to a perfect ending.
Analogous in scope (and trope) to many all-time horror greats, H's glacial pace and shifting, creeping menace keep the viewer guessing throughout. The long run time allows for a powerful exploration of grief in a depth seldom seen within the genre, but a thematically unsteady second act ultimately brings the central guessing game of transgenerational mental-illness-or-occultism to an untimely conclusion.
