The Zone of Interest 2023
Innovative sound design and intelligent, quite strict and static montages of the house of the Höss family meet the reality of the concentration camp, which is directly next to the house but never actually seen by the audience, which makes it presence lurking through the literal backdoor.
Unfortunately, the story between Rudolph Höss and his wife (the ever phenomenal Sandra Hüller) stays strangely underdeveloped.

A movie for the masses about the masses. Full-on anti-Zarist and pro-proletarian ideology, phenomenal visual aesthetics, montages as modern as it gets and a scene about a stairway in Odessa which is not without a reason called „Potemkin stairs“ these days.
