The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

There aren’t really words that can describe how much I love this film and these characters and this universe. Such an amazing story. The first act has some of the greatest world building of all time. The opening to the film perfectly lays out this world and what’s going on, and it’s just so cool. The middle and final acts consist of some of my favorite movie moments ever; the formation of the fellowship, the mines of Moria, Gandalf and…

David Lynch managed to tell one of the most heartbreaking stories of human exploitation in a very sensitive, caring way.

    The Elephant Man
is a story of suffering, but also resilience, compassion, and human empathy. I love Anthony Hopkins more every time I see a new performance of his, and John Hurt was fantastic. I was brought to tears by this, so sad that it was based on a true story.

The worst of the Lord of the Rings trilogy is still an amazing movie. Fellowship of the Ring and Return of the King are probably two of my favorite films ever, whereas this doesn’t really come near that title. I still love this movie, although it’s closer to a 4/5 than a 5/5.

    Unforgiven

    ★★★½

Unforgiven is a film that I wish I had watched at a different time, mainly because I haven’t seen many westerns. This, being a deconstruction of the genre, did not hit as hard for me as it would have after seeing some of the classic westerns. I still appreciated it though, and I enjoyed most of it. It was interesting to watch our main character’s journey from a changed man who gave up violence, to returning to his old ways.…

Wow, I’m really glad Kiernan Culkin got that Oscar, he is really good in this. Loved his performance.

A Real Pain is an amazing portrayal of the different ways that people process their pain and emotions. The chemistry between the two leads really carried the film, their performances helped to show the complexities of their characters relationship but also relationships in general. This was really really good.

If you didn’t see Infinity War in theaters in 2018 I feel bad for you. It was a movie experience like no other. The anticipation from this to Endgame was like nothing else I have ever experienced or probably will ever experience again.
