  two random thoughts i had while watching this.

  1. there are only 2 correct rows to sit at in a movie theatre- the very front, or the very back.

  2. one of the great joys in the life of an illustrator or animator is when you find which pencil you had been using based on how much heat it's retained. Like the pencil has a beating heart even though it's just sitting there on the table since you put it down.

  The only movie better than literature. But maybe I am only saying this because for a week i can have coffee and tea with my mom every day, play with our cat, stay inside, listen to beethoven and work on my animation.

  As an animation student I am contractually obliged to love this movie, but I’m feeling inspired by the integrity displayed by Miles Morales in this film in opposition to the other spider-people, so I’m comfortable telling the truth and saying it’s just mediocre. I actually think this is a deeply incurious and rudimentary film, except for a smattering of amazing animation ideas (which are mostly expended by the end of the first 45 minutes).
