Man, this film surpassed all my expectations for a Bong Joon Ho production, especially with its bold exploration of political themes. "Mickey 17" stands out as a sensational sci-fi film of this generation. It's incredibly funny throughout and keeps you engaged. Robert Pattinson delivers an outstanding performance, continuing to impress with each role he takes on. Mark Ruffalo gives a fantastic impression of Trump while interacting with his wife, played by Toni Collette, who also shines in her role. Overall, it's a fantastic film, but my only complaint is that I wish the pacing had been better.
"The Monkey," directed and written by Osgood Perkins, known for his work on "Longlegs," did a phenomenal job adapting Stephen King's short story. The film is both extremely funny and quite gory. Perkins excels at visually capturing the narrative, and the kill scenes he creates are incredible. Theo James delivers a fantastic performance; it suits him well, and I was pleasantly surprised by how effectively he maintained his character. I also loved the cameos from Adam Scott and Elijah Wood. Overall, it was pretty good, although it sometimes got lost. Nonetheless, I found it entertaining.
Last Night in Soho is a psychological thriller that is directed by Edgar Wright, that follows a young girl named Eloise becoming a fashion designer that is able to mysteriously enter the 1960s where she encounters a dazzling wannable singer. But the beauty is not all as it appears in the 1960s as the more she dreams, the past starts to crack open. This film was dark, engaging, beautifully shot with great lighting effects and disturbing filled with great performances that blew me away. Anya Taylor-Joy was anstonishing as usual and leads this film.
