“Each of these carpets tell a different story”
Charlotte Wells perfectly portrayed the rose coloured lenses of childhood that wear away into questions and desires to understand the pieces of your story innocence allowed you to miss. It was raw and real and brilliant without the need for over exaggerated characters or plot points. She expertly created a sense of tension and anticipation of loss through gentle foreshadowing but never allows it to amount to the big ordeal that we expect, which instead emphasise her point that this is a movie of remembrance and will to understand. A geniusly simple and heartbreaking film.
