Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat 2024
Genuinely confused by positive reviews of this film. It’s messy and jarring, and the pov is far too removed for a white Belgian filmmaker.
There are other filmmakers who have already covered this same material (Raoul Peck!), or perfected the style.
Honestly the compiled jstor articles this is based off of would have been preferred to this guilt-laden yet somehow still preening view of a colonial history. Who is this film for?
