The tone of this movie changed 3 times, it was muddled and watching was a slog. Everything AROUND the actual plot and dialogue was incredible - the set design and soundtrack were brilliant. I really enjoyed the bio infection apocalypse look of the gorge in the second act, and the disturbing fleshy bug creatures really freaked me out!!
The dialogue was peak… they used “woah… what IS this place”. I want to gorge my eyes out. Hahah… awesome

Ironically spoonfed throughout the movie, quite watered down narrative of “rich person bad”. It’s true, but treated as a grand reveal to the viewer as if it’s some sort of revaluation that the wealthy are out of touch. I did like the fact that the lead and the evil chef man had a link, since they were both service workers - sexual and culinary. Fun movie, but nothing really to write home about.
I thought the burger looked awesome though I would eat the SHIT out of that burger on a boat hell yeah.

Never before has a movie made me wary of cats. But you live and learn I suppose… The practical visuals are genuinely spectacular in such a gitchy way, it’s all fantastically charming. I think said charm is lost on modern audiences since the people viewing alongside me were laughing at the moments the director obviously intended to be horrific - but I guess our minds are so used to REALISM and GORE!!
