Some beautiful sound bites, gorgeous setting, soundtrack and costuming. The character of Alex prior to meeting David was underdeveloped making it difficult to contextualise his becoming. Maybe that was the intention, queer people are not fully actualised until coming to these realisations? Frustrated by the mother and unsure the necessity of Kate being English. Enjoyed the very end as a hint of how the summer will shape Alex’s future. All in all, loved the beginning but as the pacing was odd, the second half fell a little short of making this a favourite.
