I SAW this movie instead of watching it because to watch something is to see AND understand it. I saw it in a theater in Mexico, so the audio was Spanish with no captions. Why? Because I went on vacation with my girlfriend, so that was fun. Was honestly there to spend time with her regardless of the activity. :)
I didn’t understand anything said, but this is Snow White, so what new information is there to know?
The movie itself…
As someone that struggles with Anxiety and defining my sense of self, this movie hit really close to home.
This was such a welcome and absolute surprise because for someone that has only watched the mindless MonsterVerse movies, this showed me why Godzilla is important to not only Japan's culture, but the world as well.
The themes of family, love, and camaraderie in the face of guilt, fear of annihilation, and suffering all blend perfectly together to tell a story of humanity persevering against even the impossible odds.
This is also the first Godzilla movie where I actually cared…
There's a million different things I could reference from the movie to describe how brilliant it was such as the action, the humor, or the one-liners, but the only thing I can say is that it all came together to create a near-perfect synergy of what a fun movie and a trilogy finale should be.
But I mean, Ash saying "Hail to the King, baby" was also enough for me.
