  Not as powerful as other Robert Eggers movies but it sends its point across perfectly fine. The cinematography is absolutely stunning; it makes gore almost seem pleasant.

  This movie places you in the position of a Vietnam soldier without explicitly stating that it does. You're part of the war you see on screen, part of the madness that consumes the narrative. Full Metal Jacket stares you right in the eyes and isn't afraid to do so- there's no shame in it. War is cruel, humanity is cruel, but both are also begging for peace.
