This is what Mr and Mrs Smith wishes it was. This is what Fincher was trying to do character wise in The Killer. This is clinical and cold and clever. Steven Soderbergh has had a very interesting career. He's innovative and mechanical. Between this and Presence, it's clear that he and Koepp are perfect collaborators. A really good cinema experience. Looked great, great leads, surprisingly good music and a whole lot of fun. Idc what the reviews say, this was super entertaining. John Malkovich and Ayo Edebiri have this really weird chemistry that works perfectly. Amber Midthunder is cool as fuck. It's not anything new or special and I don't really think it would have a lot of rewatchability but it worked for me. I think it's worth watching. I think Ayo Edebiri should be in everything. I think John Malkovich should put out an album
Embarrassing that this got funded and put in cinemas at all. It's incompetent on almost all fronts. The story is stupid, the dialogue, set design, lighting and cinematography were all terrible. Makeup and cgi is lower level than plenty of YouTube videos so even though it was fine, it wasn't by any standards movie quality. Characters had no depth or interest to them.
