I was actually pleasantly surprised by this. It isn’t a bonafide, iron clad plot and there are some surprising gaps in logic, but it makes its point and has twists and turns that I didn’t expect.

This is incredibly moving and poignant and so painstakingly well done. It’s infuriating to watch the journey through and in pain but also captivating. A journey kind of movie that feels familiar but also novel, it’s genuinely irritating to follow Kieran’s nervous energy as his character closely resembles Roman Roy. It feels familiar because of Succession but also entirely new and a new level of neuroses acquired through acknowledging pain. I really liked this movie!

This was tense throughout but without a big payoff. Thrilling and able to hold my attention, yet it felt like I was waiting for something that never happened.

I’m not 100% sure how to feel about this movie yet, but it certainly is a touchy subject that is treated with kid gloves, no pun intended. It’s a weighty movie throughout and never really lets you feel any sort of comfort level, which is appropriate given the source material. Gripping and tense but also at times pushed hard for dramatic effect. I’m split.
