This is actually one of the best movies ever made.
When I first saw it on a tiny TV last year I knew I needed to catch it on the big screen.
The last 5 minutes of this are legit enough to make a grown man cry.

While 11-year-old me loved the action and quotes referenced by Call of Duty, adult me absolutely fell in love with how much of a psychedelic fever dream this movie is. I never picked up on the surrealist elements that turn a simple "road" trip story into something more. Every character is given a spotlight, right down to the minor ones. Captain Willard—a very handsome Martin Sheen—stands out to me for his complexity and sonorous noir-like narration.
