Crisp direction, a stellar cast and snappy dialogue make “They Drive By Night” a great watch. Cry of the Hunted 1953
Barry Sullivan's Lt Tunner travels from the city LA to the State LA to track down escaped criminal Jory played by Vittorio Gassman. “Cry of the Hunted” is a passable man hunt movie with some nice flourishes by director Joseph H Lewis aka Wagon Wheel Joe who would place a wagon wheel in the foreground of his Westerns to help create depth in his compositions.
