    Kinda fun! Definitely loses momentum in the back half, but when it was functioning like a creepy play for the first bit I was quite on board. Anybody but Hugh Grant in that role would have been insufferable, but I think he nailed it.
    Thatcher and East are very good too. I hope they both have long, fruitful Scream Queen careers (though I’d bet Thatcher takes a swing for the non-genre majors sooner than later).

    A nice, cozy, novelistic, grown-up rom-com. Real character work and discussions of actual issues. Could probably stand to be a little more high-concept to keep your average film audience engaged, but there are rewards to staying engaged despite this (or because of it, as the case may be). Distinctly, refreshingly feminine perspective.     Some nice characterization here. Wears the low budget on its sleeve. Captivating lead performance from Hannah Lee Thompson. Here’s hoping she gets a bit part in some bigger indie soon and leapfrogs up to some “oh look it’s her” status.

    A beautiful presentation of a pretty perfect movie at the Vista.
    A movie the greatness of which is maybe best reflected in how often I think about it: when I’m driving with a delicate tray of food to a family party or with my wife getting carsick on a winding section of the pch.
